HOW TORIZE WORKS

About the company

Torize earns two ways. It builds cities on asteroids it owns and lives on what they pay every week — and it builds cities on Czerka worlds under contract, for a fee.

Both halves are deliberate. Income that arrives because you own the ground is income nobody has to decide to send you. A city on ground you hold pays on a fixed weekly run whether the galaxy is trading, at war, or asleep, and that steadiness is the whole reason the company is built this way.

Asteroids in particular, because they are cheap ground nobody fights over, they carry their own mineral deposits within reach of the build site, and a two-by-two rock takes four cities where a contested world takes one and a garrison.

THE ASTEROID ESTATE

Prospectors scan open squares in the fields Torize holds and call which rocks are worth taking. Engineers put cities on the ones that clear. Freight runs materials out to the build sites and ore back to the stations. The yards turn that ore into hulls, and the hulls hold the ground. The fields and the mining run are covered in full elsewhere. It is a closed loop by design, and it keeps the crews busy without waiting on anyone.

CONTRACT CONSTRUCTION

Torize builds FI cities on Czerka worlds under contract. Czerka supplies the minerals, the ships and the construction fees; the cities are Czerka's; Torize is paid for each one completed. The terms of that contract are set out on their own page. It is the oldest work the company does and a good share of what it owns today was paid for out of it.

The two halves suit each other. Prospecting gates how fast the asteroid estate can grow, and while the surveyors are out finding the next rock, the build crews have a planet to work on and somebody else is funding the materials.

WHAT TORIZE DOES NOT DO

No public mineral market. Torize itself runs no shopfront and does not want one, so offers of trade will be answered politely and passed to Czerka, whose call that is.

Construction contracts are a different matter, and so are partnerships on ground and prospecting rights. Those we will hear — message Xpofer Tomas.

If any of that sounds like work you want, here is what it pays.
